How to Draw a Jelly Bean

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw a jelly bean in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a plate.

Print

  1. Step 1: A plate

In the middle of your paper draw a big oval plate, much wider than it is tall.

Tip The beans sit inside the rim.

  2. Step 2: The rim

Draw a second flat oval just inside the plate, all the way round, for the rim.

  3. Step 3: The jelly bean

In the middle of the plate draw a fat bean lying down, as wide as 3 fingers, like a kidney.

Tip Tilt it a little, one end up.

  4. Step 4: A shine

On the upper left of the bean draw a thin curved sliver for a shine.

  5. Step 5: Left bean

On the left of the plate draw a smaller bean tucked behind the big one, tilted the other way.

  6. Step 6: Right bean

On the right of the plate draw another bean the same size, tucked behind the big one and tilted up.

  7. Step 7: Two in front

In front of the big bean draw 2 more beans side by side, one leaning each way.

  8. Step 8: The table

Draw a table line under the plate, just touching its bottom.

  9. Step 9: Sky plate

Go over your lines. Colour the plate sky blue, going round the beans.

  10. Step 10: Pink bean

Colour the big bean pink. Leave the shine white.

  11. Step 11: Red and yellow

Colour the left bean red and the right bean yellow.

  12. Step 12: Green and purple

Colour the 2 front beans green and purple, and your jelly beans are done!
