How to Draw a Rainbow Flag
Draw a rainbow flag in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pole and ground.
Step 1: Pole and ground
Draw a ground line along the bottom. On the left, stand a tall pole on it, topped with a ball.
Step 2: The waving flag
From the pole below the ball, draw a waving flag out to the right, with wavy top and bottom edges.
Step 3: Two stripe lines
Inside the flag, draw 2 wavy lines across from the pole to the right edge, following the wave, evenly spaced.
Tip A rainbow flag has 6 stripes, so you need 5 lines inside, evenly spaced.
Step 4: Three more stripe lines
Draw three more wavy lines below them, the same distance apart, so the flag is split into six even stripes.
Step 5: Wind lines
Start just past the flag's right edge and draw 3 short wind dashes going right, each a different length.
Step 6: Sparkles
Draw a sparkle star out on the left of the flag and a smaller one up in the top-right corner.
Step 7: Yellow and orange
Colour the third stripe down, the ball and both sparkles yellow. Colour the stripe above it orange.
Step 8: Red and green
Colour the top stripe red and the fourth stripe down green.
Step 9: Blue and purple
Colour the fifth stripe blue and the bottom stripe purple: a whole rainbow!
Step 10: Grey pole
Colour the pole grey. Go over your lines and your rainbow flag is waving!
