How to Draw a Christmas Stocking
Draw a Christmas stocking in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: fluffy cuff.
Step 1: Fluffy cuff
Near the top, draw a wide flat box as wide as your hand. Add 6 bumps along its bottom edge.
Tip The cuff is wider than the sock.
Step 2: The sock
Under the cuff, draw a soft L sock: down, bending left like a foot, round a toe, and back up.
Tip Like a letter L that has gone soft and round.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the leg of the sock, draw 2 big egg eyes, close together. Add black dots with shines.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a wide U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end, inside the sock.
Step 5: Toe patch
Start on the top of the foot and draw a curve down to the bottom, for the toe patch.
Step 6: Hanging loop
On the top left corner of the cuff, draw a small rainbow loop sticking up, with a second rainbow inside.
Step 7: Two stripes
Below the face, draw 2 lines across the sock, a finger apart, from one side to the other.
Step 8: Holly on the cuff
On the cuff, draw 2 pointed holly leaves pointing out from the middle. Add 2 round berries where they meet.
Step 9: Snowflakes
Draw 4 little sparkle snowflakes floating round the stocking, 2 on each side.
Step 10: Sky snow, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the snowflakes sky blue and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Green holly
Colour the 2 holly leaves green.
Step 12: Red stocking
Colour the sock and berries red, around the pink cheeks. Leave the cuff, stripe, toe and eyes white.
