How to Draw a Compact Mirror
Draw a compact mirror in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the round lid.
Step 1: The round lid
Near the top of your paper draw 1 big circle, as big as your fist: the open lid.
Tip Make it big and round: the mirror is inside it.
Step 2: Two big eyes
In the circle draw 2 big egg eyes close together. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile, and a small flat cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 4: The mirror
Inside the lid draw a second circle a finger in from the edge, round the face, for the mirror glass.
Step 5: The base
Under the lid draw the base: a low, wide shape with rounded bottom corners, as wide as the lid.
Tip The base sits flat on the table; the lid stands up from it.
Step 6: Powder and hinge
Where the lid meets the base draw a small round hinge. Across the base draw a flat oval powder pan.
Step 7: The powder puff
Inside the powder pan, on the right, draw a small flat oval puff with a ribbon curve across it.
Step 8: Shine and sparkles
Draw a short shine curve on the left of the mirror, and 4 sparkles in the air around the compact.
Step 9: Table and shadow
Draw a flat oval shadow round the bottom of the base. Add a table line out from each end.
Step 10: Sky mirror
Go over your lines, then colour the mirror glass sky blue, going round the face and leaving the shine white.
Tip Keep the eyes white.
Step 11: Pink compact
Colour the lid rim, hinge and base pink, and the powder pan peach around the white puff.
Step 12: Red cheeks, grey shadow
Colour the cheeks red, pressing softly, and the shadow grey. Your compact mirror is ready!
