How to Draw a Rainbow
Draw a rainbow in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: left cloud.
Step 1: Left cloud
Low on the left, draw a fluffy cloud: bumps over the top, round ends and a soft curved bottom.
Step 2: Right cloud
Low on the right, draw another cloud. Start on its left and bump all the way round to the start.
Tip Keep both clouds at the same height.
Step 3: Big rainbow
Start on top of the left cloud. Draw one huge rainbow up and over, down to the right cloud.
Step 4: Two more rainbows
Start on the left cloud, a finger inside the big one. Draw 2 more rainbows over to the right cloud.
Step 5: Three more inside
Draw 3 more rainbows, each a finger inside the last. Start on the left cloud and end on the right.
Tip Now you have 5 bands, like a bridge.
Step 6: Little stars
In the sky, draw 3 small stars: one on each side and one above the top.
Step 7: White clouds
Colour both clouds white, right to the bumpy edges.
Step 8: Yellow and orange
Colour the middle band and the 3 stars yellow. Colour the band above the yellow one orange.
Step 9: Green and red
Colour the band under the yellow one green and the big outside band red. Stay between the lines.
Step 10: Blue band
Colour the inside band blue. Go over your lines and your rainbow is done!
