How to Draw a Radio
Draw a radio in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the radio box.
Step 1: The radio box
In the middle of your paper draw a big soft box with round corners, wider than tall.
Step 2: The speaker
In the left half draw one big speaker circle, nearly as tall as the box. Draw a smaller circle inside.
Step 3: 2 big eyes
Inside the inner circle draw 2 big egg eyes, half an eye apart. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Draw a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: A handle
On top of the box draw a wide flat rainbow handle, with both ends standing on the box.
Step 6: An antenna
Start near the top-right corner and draw a slanting antenna up to a small ball.
Step 7: The dial
In the top right draw a soft rectangle for the dial window. Add 5 short ticks and a pointer line.
Step 8: 2 knobs
Under the dial draw 2 round knobs side by side, each with a short line up from its middle.
Step 9: Grille lines
Under the knobs draw 2 lines straight across, one under the other, as wide as the dial.
Step 10: Feet and ground
Under the box draw 2 short feet near the corners, and a ground line under them from left to right.
Step 11: A music note
On the left draw a music note: a tilted oval, a line up from its right edge, and a flag.
Step 12: Cream speaker, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the inner circle cream around the eyes and cheeks, then the cheeks pink.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Sky dial, red box
Colour the dial sky blue. Colour the box red around the speaker, dial and knobs.
Step 14: Grey parts, black note
Colour the outer ring, knobs, handle, feet and antenna ball grey, and the note's oval black. Your radio is playing!
