How to Draw a Music Box
Draw a music box in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the box.
Step 1: The box
In the lower middle draw a low box twice as wide as tall. Add a line across under the top.
Step 2: The open lid
Above the box draw the open lid standing up, about as tall as the box. Add a smaller box inside.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the front of the box draw 2 big egg eyes close together. Add a dot with a shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The ballerina
In front of the lid draw a tiny ballerina: head, bun, body, triangle tutu, a leg, arms up, round hands.
Tip Keep her small: only her head and arms poke above the lid.
Step 6: The winding key
On the right side of the box draw a little L-shaped handle sticking out with a knob on the end.
Step 7: Music notes
In the air on each side draw a music note: a filled-in dot with a stick and a tiny flag.
Step 8: Sparkles and table
Add 3 small sparkles in the air and draw a table line under the box from side to side.
Step 9: Pink tutu, gold key
Colour the ballerina's tutu and body pink, and the key and knob yellow like gold.
Step 10: Blue lining, peach skin
Colour the lid lining light blue around the ballerina, and her head, hands and leg peach.
Step 11: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Wood box and lid
Colour the box light brown, lid and bun dark brown, around the lining, ballerina and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Tip Now wind it up and listen!
