How to Draw a Quilt
Draw a quilt in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the quilt.
Step 1: The quilt
In the middle of your paper draw a big square hanging down, with the top edge level.
Step 2: The rail
Along the top edge draw a long thin rail poking out both sides, with a knob on each end.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Draw 2 egg eyes in the middle of the quilt. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 5: Patch lines
Draw 2 lines down and 2 across, edge to edge, leaving a big middle patch round the face.
Step 6: Hearts
In the top-left patch and the bottom-right patch draw a little heart.
Step 7: Stars
In the top-right patch and the bottom-left patch draw a little star.
Step 8: Stitches
In the 4 side patches draw a little row of 3 short stitches across the middle.
Step 9: Bumpy edge
Rub out the straight bottom edge. Draw 7 round bumps hanging down in its place, corner to corner.
Step 10: Sparkles
Draw a sparkle star on each side of the quilt.
Step 11: Patches
Colour the corner patches sky blue and the rest cream. Leave the eyes, cheeks, hearts and stars white.
Step 12: Red hearts, yellow stars
Colour the hearts red, and the stars and sparkles yellow.
Step 13: Grey rail, pink cheeks
Colour the rail and its knobs grey and the cheeks pink, and your quilt is ready for bed!
