How to Draw a T-Shirt

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a T-shirt in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: collar and shoulders.

Print

  1. Step 1: Collar and shoulders

Draw a U neck hole, a rainbow on top. From each end slope a shoulder out, stopping a hand away.

Tip Start a little above the middle of your paper. Make the shoulders wide.

  2. Step 2: Soft sleeves

From each shoulder end draw a short droopy sleeve: down the outside, a slanted cuff, back up to the armpit.

Tip Each sleeve is a short droopy tube, 2 fingers long.

  3. Step 3: Body

From the left armpit draw a side down, a sagging hem across, and back up to the right armpit.

Tip The sides flare out a little. Keep the body wider than it is tall.

  4. Step 4: Happy face

High on the chest draw 2 big round eyes with black dots, a small open smile and 2 round cheeks.

  5. Step 5: Cuff bands

On each sleeve draw a second line a finger in from the cuff, from the outside down to the underside.

  6. Step 6: Collar and hem bands

In the neck hole draw a shallow U from one side across to the other. Draw another above the hem.

  7. Step 7: Closet rod

Well above the collar draw a long skinny bar with round ends, a little past each shoulder.

  8. Step 8: Hanger and hook

From the collar draw a small tent up to a point under the rod, then a hook over it.

  9. Step 9: Sleeve stars

In the middle of each sleeve draw a big 5-point star, zigzagging round from the top point back to it.

  10. Step 10: Peach cheeks, blue shirt

Colour the cheeks peach, then the shirt sky blue around them. Leave the eyes, stars, collar and bands white.

  11. Step 11: Red stars, grey rod

Colour the 2 stars red and the rod grey. Go over all your lines and your t-shirt is done!
