How to Draw a Fire Pit

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a fire pit in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bowl.

Print

  1. Step 1: The bowl

Below the middle of your paper draw a big half circle bowl, flat on top, as wide as your hand.

Tip Leave room above for flames and below for legs.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

On the bowl draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Add a black dot in each with a shine.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.

  4. Step 4: The rim

On top of the bowl draw a thin flat bar, sticking out a little past the bowl on both sides.

  5. Step 5: Legs and ground

Draw a ground line across under the bowl. Add 3 short legs from the bowl down to the line.

  6. Step 6: The big flame

Start on the rim at the left. Draw a wobbly flame up to a point and down to the rim.

  7. Step 7: The inner flame

Inside the big flame draw a smaller flame the same way, from the rim to a point and back.

  8. Step 8: Little sparks

Draw 3 little 4-point star sparks above the flame, not touching it.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow sparks

Colour the cheeks pink and the sparks yellow.

  10. Step 10: Yellow and orange flames

Colour the inner flame yellow, then colour the big flame orange around it.

  11. Step 11: Grey bowl

Colour the bowl, rim and legs dark grey around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white. Your fire pit crackles!
