How to Draw a Pussy Willow
Draw a pussy willow in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the middle stem.
Step 1: The middle stem
Start at the bottom middle. Draw a tall stem up near the top, thinner as it goes up.
Step 2: Two more stems
A thumb to the left draw a stem leaning up left, and a thumb to the right one leaning right.
Step 3: Tip buds
Draw a fuzzy oval bud on the tip of each stem, with a soft bumpy edge.
Tip Pussy willow buds are soft grey ovals, like tiny cats' paws.
Step 4: Middle stem buds
On the top half of the middle stem draw 4 more fuzzy buds, taking turns sides.
Step 5: Left stem buds
Draw 4 fuzzy buds up the top half of the left stem too, taking turns sides.
Step 6: Right stem buds
Draw 4 fuzzy buds up the top half of the right stem the same way.
Step 7: The ground
Start near the left edge. Draw a soft ground line under the stems, stopping near the right edge.
Step 8: Grass tufts
Start on the ground line each side of the stems. Draw 2 little curved grass blades up.
Step 9: Grey buds
Go over your lines. Colour all 15 fuzzy buds light grey, right into the bumps.
Step 10: Brown stems
Colour the 3 stems brown, around the buds. Your pussy willow is done!
