How to Draw a Punching Bag
Draw a punching bag in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top.
Step 1: The top
Near the top of your paper draw a flat oval, about a hand wide, for the top of the bag.
Tip Leave a little room above it for the chain.
Step 2: The tall bag
From each oval end draw a line down, nearly to the bottom. Join the bottoms with a smile curve.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Above the middle of the bag draw 2 big round eyes side by side. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small flat cheek beside each end.
Step 5: Top band
A finger under the top oval draw a smile across the bag from side to side, and another just under.
Step 6: Bottom band
A finger above the bottom draw the same 2 smiles across the bag for the bottom band.
Step 7: Chain and beam
On the bag draw a small ring and 2 chain links going up. Add a flat beam across the top.
Step 8: Ground and shadow
Draw a ground line under the bag, from left to right. Add a flat oval shadow on the line.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, grey shadow
Colour the cheeks pink and the shadow light grey.
Step 10: Red bag
Colour the bag red, going around the face and the 2 bands. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Black bands, grey beam
Colour the 2 bands black, and the ring and the beam dark grey.
