How to Draw a Football Field Goal
Draw a football field goal in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the crossbar.
Step 1: The crossbar
Above the middle and a little left, draw 1 thin bar lying across, about half as wide as the paper.
Tip This bar is high up. Leave room on the right for the football.
Step 2: Two uprights
From each end of the crossbar draw a tall thin upright straight up, stopping near the top of the paper.
Step 3: The pole
From the middle of the crossbar draw 1 thin pole down, stopping a hand above the bottom. A big Y!
Tip Keep the pole right in the middle so the goal balances.
Step 4: The padded base
Round the bottom of the pole draw a tall rounded block, a little wider than the pole, on the ground.
Step 5: The football
Right of the pad draw a fat oval football lying down. Give it 2 eyes, a U smile and cheeks.
Tip Keep the face small and in the middle, with room for stripes and laces.
Step 6: Stripes and laces
Near each end draw 2 C lines from the top edge down to the bottom edge. Add laces on top.
Tip The laces are a short line with tiny ticks, well above the eyes.
Step 7: Grass
Draw a ground line under the pad and the football, edge to edge, with grass blades at each end.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw 2 small sparkle stars up between the uprights, like plus signs with curvy arms.
Step 9: Yellow goalpost
Colour the crossbar, the uprights, the pole and the 2 sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, grey pad
Colour the cheeks pink and the padded base grey.
Step 11: Brown football
Colour the football brown around the cheeks. Leave the stripes and eyes white. Go over your lines.
