How to Draw a Propeller

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a propeller in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the hub.

Print

  1. Step 1: The hub

In the middle of your paper, draw a round circle for the hub, about 2 fingers wide.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

In the hub, a little above the middle, draw 2 big round eyes with a black dot and white shine.

  3. Step 3: A tiny smile

Under the eyes, draw a tiny U smile.

  4. Step 4: Three long blades

From the hub, draw 3 long rounded blades like a Y: 1 straight up, 2 slanting down to the sides.

  5. Step 5: Blade grain

Draw 1 short straight line along the outer half of each blade, well short of the hub and the tip.

  6. Step 6: The engine

Behind the hub, draw a big circle nearly twice as wide as the hub, so the blades poke out.

Tip It sits on the nose of a plane: the big circle is the engine.

  7. Step 7: Two wings

Start on each side of the circle. Draw a long wing with a round end, back to the circle.

  8. Step 8: Yellow hub, pink cheeks

Colour the hub yellow with 2 pink cheeks beside the smile, leaving the eyes white.

  9. Step 9: Wooden blades

Colour the 3 blades wood brown.

  10. Step 10: Red engine, slate wings

Colour the engine red around the hub and blades, and the wings slate grey. Now it is ready to spin!
