How to Draw a Medical Symbol
Draw a medical symbol in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the staff.
Step 1: The staff
Down the middle of your paper, draw a long thin stick with a round foot.
Tip Leave room above it for a ball, and at the sides for wings.
Step 2: Ball on top
On top of the stick, draw a small ball.
Tip The ball hides the flat top of the stick.
Step 3: Wing tops
On each side, start on the stick under the ball. Draw a long arch out to a round tip.
Tip Make both wings the same length.
Step 4: Wing feathers
From each wing tip, draw 3 round feathers stepping down and in. Stop at the stick.
Tip Each feather is a little longer than the one before.
Step 5: Feather lines
In each wing, draw 2 lines from the dips between the feathers up towards the ball.
Step 6: First snake
Left of the stick, draw a snake head. Curl its fat body down across the stick, round and back.
Tip Rub out the stick where the snake crosses in front.
Step 7: First snake's tail
From the stick's left side, loop the body across again, round, and back to the stick as a thin tail.
Step 8: Second snake
On the right, draw the other head facing the first. Bring its neck down to the first snake.
Step 9: Under and over
It slides under and out on the left. Loop it across the stick and down to the first snake.
Tip Each snake goes over, then under, like a plait.
Step 10: Second snake's tail
Low on the left, finish it with a small loop and a thin tail going behind the stick.
Tip The loops get smaller as they go down.
Step 11: Two eyes
Give each snake a small dot eye near the top of its head.
Step 12: Yellow wings
Colour both wings and the ball on top yellow.
Step 13: Light green snake
Colour the snake with its head on the right light green, all 3 parts of it.
Step 14: Brown staff, green snake
Colour the stick brown and the other snake dark green. Go over your lines!
