How to Draw a Chainsaw
Draw a chainsaw in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the saw body.
Step 1: The saw body
Left of the middle, draw a big box with round corners.
Tip A chainsaw has a boxy motor at the back and a long flat bar at the front.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
On the body draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: The long bar
From the body's right side draw a long flat bar out to the right, with a round end.
Tip Keep the top and bottom of the bar straight and level.
Step 5: The chain
Inside the bar draw the same shape a little smaller, from the body out and back to the body.
Tip The band between your two lines is the chain.
Step 6: The chain teeth
All along the top of the bar, round the end and back underneath, draw pointy teeth.
Tip Keep the teeth all the same size.
Step 7: The top handle
On the body's top draw a wide flat-topped arch. Inside, draw a smaller arch from the body back to it.
Tip The gap inside the handle is where your hand goes.
Step 8: The back handle
At the back, draw a round-cornered loop down to the ground. Inside, draw a smaller loop from body to body.
Step 9: The ground
Draw a ground line under the saw from edge to edge.
Step 10: Pink and grey
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink and the middle of the bar grey. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Orange body
Colour the body orange around the face.
Step 12: Chain and handles
Colour the chain, its teeth and both handles dark grey, leaving the holes in the handles white. Vroom!
