How to Draw a Paper Towel Roll
Draw a paper towel roll in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the roll.
Step 1: The roll
Draw a flat oval. Draw a long line down from each end. Join them with a smile curve.
Tip A paper towel roll is much taller than it is wide.
Step 2: The tube hole
Inside the top oval draw a small flat oval in the middle.
Step 3: The loose sheet
Start at the roll's top right corner. Draw a wavy line right, down, and back. Stop at the roll.
Tip The sheet is as tall as the roll.
Step 4: Tear line
Start on the sheet's top edge, halfway along. Draw a straight line down. Stop on its bottom edge.
Step 5: The stand
Start low on the roll's left side. Draw a wide curve round under the roll. Stop under the sheet.
Tip The roll stands on a round plate.
Step 6: Its thick edge
Start at the plate's left end. Draw a short line down, then a curve along underneath. Stop under the sheet.
Step 7: Post and knob
Draw a thin post standing up out of the hole. Top it with a round knob.
Tip The post holds the roll on its stand.
Step 8: Dotty pattern
Draw 3 small circles on the roll and 2 on the sheet.
Tip Spread them out in a zigzag.
Step 9: The table
Draw a straight table line from far left to far right, touching the bottom of the stand.
Step 10: Cream paper
Go over your lines. Colour the roll's side and the sheet cream, around the dots. Leave the top white.
Step 11: Blue and tan
Colour the 5 dots light blue and the little tube hole light brown.
Step 12: Wooden stand
Colour the plate, the post and the knob brown. Your paper towel roll is ready!
