How to Draw a Poseidon

Step 1: The head

Near the top, a little left of the middle, draw an egg for the head, narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave room above for the crown and on the right for the trident.

Step 2: The face

Draw 2 round eyes with black dots and shines, just below the middle. Add a U nose and a smile.

Step 3: Long beard

Under the nose draw a moustache, ends curling up. Hang a long U beard from the cheeks to the chest.

Step 4: Pointed crown

Above the eyes draw a curved band across the head. On top of it draw 5 tall zigzag points.

Tip Rub out the head line inside the crown.

Step 5: Wavy hair

From under each end of the crown, draw long wavy hair down beside the face to the shoulder.

Step 6: The robe

From behind the beard draw round shoulders, then long sides down to a wide curved hem.

Step 7: Big sleeves

Draw a sleeve hanging down on the left. On the right, draw one reaching out sideways. Add cuffs.

Tip Make each sleeve fat at the shoulder and thinner at the cuff.

Step 8: Two hands

Under the left cuff draw a round hand with a thumb bump. On the right cuff draw a round fist.

Step 9: The trident

Draw a tall thin pole through the fist, down to just below the hem. Top it with 3 pointed prongs.

Tip The pole hides behind the fist.

Step 10: Belt and waves

Draw a belt across the robe with 2 lines. Near the hem draw a wavy line from edge to edge.

Step 11: Shoes and ground

Under the hem draw 2 shoes peeking out. Draw a long ground line under the shoes and the pole.

Step 12: White hair, peach skin

Colour the hair, beard and moustache white. Colour pink cheeks, then the face and hands peach around them.

Tip Leave the eyes white.

Step 13: Gold crown and trident

Colour the crown, the trident and the belt yellow. Colour the wavy hem light blue.

Step 14: Sea green robe

Colour the robe and sleeves sea green, around the belt. Colour the shoes brown. Poseidon is done!
