How to Draw a Pomelo
Draw a pomelo in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pomelo.
Step 1: The pomelo
On the left draw a huge round, as big as your fist, with a small soft point on top.
Tip A pomelo is the biggest citrus fruit of all, like a giant orange with a little point.
Step 2: Stem and leaf
From the point on top draw a short stem leaning up right, with a fat leaf on its tip.
Step 3: Leaf vein
Start on the stem end of the leaf. Draw one bowed line up the middle, stopping short of the tip.
Step 4: Dimples
Dot 5 tiny dots on the pomelo for its bumpy skin, spread out, none touching the edge.
Step 5: A shine
Inside the upper left of the skin draw a thin oval sliver for a shine.
Step 6: A half pomelo
In front, lower right, draw a round as big as your palm for a cut half facing you.
Tip The half shows the thick white pith and big fat wedges.
Step 7: Skin and pith
Just inside the half draw a thin skin ring. Leave a wide band of pith, then draw a smaller round.
Step 8: 3 wedges
Inside the inner round draw 3 fat wedges like flower petals, from the middle out to the round and back.
Step 9: 3 more wedges
Fill the gaps with 3 more fat wedges, so the 6 together make a flower.
Step 10: The ground
Draw a ground line under the pomelo and the half from well left to well right, skipping the fruit.
Step 11: Cream pith, peach wedges
Go over your lines. Colour the pith cream, going around the wedges, and the 6 wedges peach.
Step 12: Green and brown
Colour the pomelo, the half's thin skin and the leaf green, around the pith. Colour the stem brown.
Tip Leave the shine white.
