How to Draw Polka Dots
Draw polka dots in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the square.
Step 1: The square
In the middle draw a big square with soft corners, nearly as big as your page.
Tip Each row of dots shifts half a step from the one above.
Step 2: Top row
Near the top of the square draw a row of 5 small round dots, with a dot-wide gap between them.
Step 3: Second row
Under them draw a row of 4 dots, each one sitting in the gap between 2 dots above.
Step 4: Middle row
Draw a row of 5 dots across the middle, lined up under the top row.
Step 5: Fourth row
Draw 4 more dots under them, in the gaps again.
Step 6: Bottom row
Finish with a row of 5 dots near the bottom, lined up with the rows of 5 above.
Step 7: Sparkles
Draw 4 sparkle stars off the corners of the square.
Step 8: Cream square
Go over your lines, then colour the square cream, around the dots.
Step 9: Yellow sparkles
Colour the 4 sparkles yellow.
Step 10: Red dots
Colour every dot red. Your polka dots are done!
