How to Draw a Police Helicopter

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a police helicopter in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: cabin and windshield.

Print

  1. Step 1: Cabin and windshield

Draw a big egg on its side, nose right. From the roof, draw a C windshield round to the chin.

  2. Step 2: Rotor and blades

On the roof, draw a tall mast with a hub. From the hub, draw a blade out to each side.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

Inside the glass, draw 2 big round eyes side by side, almost touching, with black dots and white shines.

  4. Step 4: Smile

Inside the glass, under the eyes, draw a wide U smile with both corners curling up.

  5. Step 5: Tail boom

Start on the back of the cabin. Draw a long tail left, round the tip, and back to the cabin.

  6. Step 6: Fin

Start on the tail near the tip. Draw a little shark fin up and over, down to the tail tip.

  7. Step 7: Tail rotor

On top of the fin, draw a small circle hub. Draw 2 short blades crossing through it like an X.

  8. Step 8: Skid and legs

Under the cabin, draw a long sled skid curling at the ends. From the tummy, draw 2 legs down.

  9. Step 9: Star badge

On the back of the cabin, behind the windshield, draw a star with 5 points.

Tip The star is the police badge.

  10. Step 10: Roof lights

On the roof, in front of the mast, draw a low bump. Draw a line down its middle.

Tip These are the flashing police lights.

  11. Step 11: Clouds

Under the tail and above a blade tip, draw 2 small clouds, each a flat line with 3 round bumps.

  12. Step 12: Sky glass, yellow star

Colour the glass sky blue and the star yellow. Leave the eyes white.

  13. Step 13: Grey metal, red light

Colour the hubs, the blades, the skid and the legs grey. Colour the left light red.

  14. Step 14: Blue light, dark blue

Colour the right light blue. Colour the cabin, mast, tail and fin dark blue, around the star.
