How to Draw a Pointing Finger
Draw a pointing finger in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the palm.
Step 1: The palm
In the middle of your paper draw a rounded palm, like a fat egg with a flatter top.
Tip Leave lots of room above for one tall finger.
Step 2: Pointing finger
From the palm top, left of the middle, draw one tall finger up, round the tip, down to the palm.
Tip Make it tall: it is the star of the drawing.
Step 3: Curled middle finger
Across the top of the palm, draw a fat sausage finger poking a little past the right edge.
Step 4: Two more curled fingers
Under it draw 2 more sausage fingers, each tucked under the one above and poking past the edge.
Tip The 3 curls stack like little sausages.
Step 5: Folded thumb
Start low on the palm's left edge. Draw a fat thumb over the finger ends, back to the edge.
Tip Rub out the finger ends that are under the thumb.
Step 6: Wrist lines
Start on the bottom of the palm. Draw 2 short wrist lines down, spreading a little, and stop level.
Step 7: Soft cuff
Where the wrist lines stop, draw a soft rounded cuff around the wrist. Add a line across near the top.
Step 8: The nail
Near the tip of the tall finger, draw a small rounded nail.
Step 9: Pink nail, peach hand
Colour the nail pink. Then colour the palm, fingers, thumb and wrist peach, around the nail.
Step 10: Green cuff
Colour the cuff green. Go over your lines and your pointing finger is done.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a pointing finger, drawn by you.
