How to Draw a Podium

Step 1: The winner's box

In the middle of the page draw a tall standing box, 3 fingers wide, for the number 1 step.

Tip Make it almost twice as tall as it is wide.

Step 2: Second and third

On its left draw a shorter box the same width, touching it. On its right draw an even shorter one.

Step 3: Two big eyes

Near the top of the tall box draw 2 big round eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.

Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile, eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek out beside each end.

Step 5: The tops

On each box, start at the top left corner, slant up, go across, and slant down to the top right.

Tip On the left box, stop the flat line where it meets the tall box.

Step 6: The sides

From each top's back corner draw a side straight down, stopping at the next box or at the bottom corner.

Tip On the right box the side slants back in at the bottom.

Step 7: Number 1

Under the face draw a big 1: a short slant up, a straight line down, and a flat foot.

Step 8: Numbers 2 and 3

On the left box draw a big 2. On the right box draw a big 3 with 2 round bumps.

Step 9: Star on top

Draw a small star on the tall box's top, not touching its edges. Add a sparkle each side.

Step 10: Ground and shadow

Draw a flat shadow oval under the boxes. Add a ground line that starts and stops just past its ends.

Step 11: Gold winner's box

Colour the tall box gold yellow, going around the face and the star. Colour the cheeks pink.

Tip Leave the eyes white.

Step 12: Silver and bronze

Colour the left box grey like silver and the right box wood brown like bronze, fronts, tops and side.

Step 13: Red star, grey shadow

Colour the star and the sparkles red, and the shadow grey. Your podium is ready for the winners!
