How to Draw a Comic Book
Draw a comic book in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the cover.
Step 1: The cover
In the middle, draw a big rectangle with rounded corners, a bit taller than it is wide.
Tip Leave room at the right and bottom for the pages.
Step 2: Pages and ground
Draw pages peeking out behind, right and down, with a line down their right side. Add a ground line.
Step 3: Title banner
Across the top of the cover, draw a long flat box with a small star in the middle.
Step 4: The big burst
In the middle of the cover, draw a big jagged burst with lots of pointy zigzag spikes, like a splat.
Step 5: A fat P
Inside the burst on the left, draw a fat bubble letter P with a small hole in its bump.
Step 6: A fat O
Next to the P, draw a fat bubble O, like a doughnut with a hole in the middle.
Step 7: A fat W
Next to the O, draw a fat bubble W: a chunky zigzag, all in one thick shape.
Step 8: A fat !
After the W, draw a chunky exclamation mark: a fat bar with a round dot under it. POW!
Step 9: Two sparkles
Draw 2 sparkle stars on the cover, one at the top left and one at the bottom right.
Step 10: Yellow and grey
Colour the star, the sparkles and the burst yellow, around the letters. Colour the page edges grey.
Step 11: Red banner and letters
Colour the banner red, around the star. Colour the fat letters red too.
Step 12: Blue cover
Go over your lines, then colour the cover blue, around the banner, the burst and the sparkles.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a comic book, drawn by you.
