How to Draw a Viking Shield
Draw a Viking shield in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big circle.
Step 1: Big circle
In the middle of your paper draw a big round circle, as big as your fist.
Step 2: Rim band
Inside the circle draw another circle, a finger in from the edge. That band is the rim.
Step 3: Metal bump
In the very middle draw a small circle for the round metal bump.
Step 4: Swirly S
Start at the top of the rim. Draw a big S behind the bump and stop at the bottom.
Tip Where the S meets the bump, stop at its edge and carry on from the other side.
Step 5: Sideways S
Start at the left of the rim. Draw a sideways S behind the bump and stop on the right.
Tip Stop at the bump's edge again and carry on from its other side.
Step 6: Little dots
On the rim band draw 8 small dots, spaced evenly all the way round.
Step 7: Sparkles
Draw 2 little sparkle stars on each side of the shield.
Step 8: Yellow slices
Go over your lines, then colour every other slice yellow, and the sparkles too.
Step 9: Grey bump, wood rim
Colour the middle bump grey, leaving a little shine white. Colour the rim wood brown.
Step 10: Red slices
Colour the other 2 slices red.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a Viking shield, drawn by you.
