How to Draw an Oven Mitt
Draw an oven mitt in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the mitt.
Step 1: The mitt
In the middle draw a tall puffy mitten: a big round top, sides bulging out, open at the bottom.
Tip Make it as tall as your hand: an oven mitt is big and puffy.
Step 2: The thumb
Low on the left side draw a fat egg for the thumb, leaning out and up to the middle.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the round top of the mitt draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile, eye to eye, and a small oval cheek out beside each end.
Step 5: Cuff and ground
Under the mitt draw a wide box with rounded corners for the cuff. Put a long ground line under it.
Step 6: Cuff ribs
On the cuff draw 5 short lines straight down, evenly spaced, for the stretchy ribbing.
Step 7: Quilt stitches
Across the lower mitt draw 2 gently curved lines from the left edge to the right edge, for puffy quilting.
Step 8: Hanging loop
On the cuff's left side draw a small sideways U with a smaller U inside, for the hanging loop.
Step 9: Sparkles
Add 3 small sparkles in the air around the mitt.
Step 10: Cream cuff and loop
Go over your lines, then colour the cuff and the loop cream.
Step 11: Pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Red mitt
Colour the mitt and thumb red, around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white. Your oven mitt is ready!
