How to Draw a Pluto

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a pluto in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the planet.

Print

  1. Step 1: The planet

Draw a big round planet a little left of the middle, leaving room for a moon at the top right.

Tip Pluto is a tiny planet, but draw it big so its heart fits.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

Above the middle of the planet draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a shine.

Tip Keep both eyes the same size and at the same height.

  3. Step 3: Big smile

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from under the left eye over to the right eye.

  4. Step 4: Pluto's heart

Under the smile draw a big heart. Start at the dip, go round both bumps, down to the point.

Tip Pluto really has a giant heart shape on it. It is made of ice!

  5. Step 5: Three craters

Draw 3 round craters: a big one above the eyes, one on the left and one low on the right.

Tip Make each crater a different size, and keep them off the face.

  6. Step 6: Pluto's moon

In the top right corner draw a small round moon. Add 2 tiny craters on it.

Tip Pluto's biggest moon is called Charon.

  7. Step 7: Stars

Draw 3 small 5-point stars, one near each of the other corners of your paper.

Tip Keep the stars well away from the planet.

  8. Step 8: Yellow stars

    Colour the 3 stars yellow.

  9. Step 9: Rosy cheeks

Beside each end of the smile, colour a small pink oval for a rosy cheek.

  10. Step 10: Cream heart

Colour the heart cream, a very pale yellow.

  11. Step 11: Grey moon

Colour the moon pale grey, around its 2 tiny craters.

  12. Step 12: Sandy planet

Colour the planet light brown around the eyes, cheeks, heart and craters. Leave the eyes white.

Tip Go slowly round the heart so it stays pale.

  13. Step 13: Dark craters

Colour Pluto's 3 craters darker brown and the moon's 2 craters darker grey. Go over your lines. Pluto is done!
