How to Draw a Plumeria

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a plumeria in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the first petal.

Print

  1. Step 1: The first petal

Near the top of your paper draw a long egg petal pointing up, thin at the bottom, round on top.

Tip Plumeria petals all lean the same way, like the blades of a pinwheel.

  2. Step 2: Round the pinwheel

Draw a petal pointing right, tucked under the first, then one pointing down-right, tucked under that.

  3. Step 3: The last petals

Add a petal down-left, tucked under the last one, then one up-left over the first. Rub out the hidden line.

  4. Step 4: The middle

Where the petals meet draw a big soft star, with a point going into each petal.

  5. Step 5: The stem

Start under the down-left petal, near the middle. Draw 2 stem lines curving down to near the bottom, slowly widening.

  6. Step 6: Two leaves

On the stem draw a long pointed leaf out left, and a lower one out right.

  7. Step 7: Leaf veins

Start at the stem in the middle of each leaf. Draw a vein out and stop short of the tip.

  8. Step 8: Ground and grass

Draw a soft, gently sagging ground line across the bottom through the stem. Flick 2 grass blades up each side.

  9. Step 9: Yellow middle

Go over your lines. Colour the star middle yellow, and leave the petals white.

  10. Step 10: Green stem and leaves

Colour the stem and both leaves green, and your plumeria is done!
