How to Draw a Plug

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a plug in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the plug body.

Print

  1. Step 1: The plug body

In the middle of your paper draw a chubby rounded square, a hand-width across, with big soft corners.

  2. Step 2: Two prongs

Draw 2 short flat prongs on top. Each starts on the edge, goes up and across, and stops on it.

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

Draw 2 big egg eyes in the middle of the body. Add a black dot and a shine in each.

  4. Step 4: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat cheek beside each end.

  5. Step 5: The neck line

Under the prongs draw a gently curved line across, from the left edge to the right edge.

  6. Step 6: The cord

From the bottom left corner draw a thick cord going left, lying flat and level with the bottom.

  7. Step 7: Zaps

Beside each prong draw a little lightning bolt, a zigzag down to a point and back up.

  8. Step 8: Floor and shadow

Draw a floor line under the plug, side to side. Add a thin flat oval shadow where it sits.

  9. Step 9: Pink cheeks, yellow zaps

Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks pink and the zaps yellow.

  10. Step 10: Teal plug

Colour the body teal, going around the eyes and the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

  11. Step 11: Grey prongs, dark cord

Colour the prongs and the shadow grey, and the cord dark grey. Your plug is done!
