How to Draw an India Flag
Draw an india flag in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pole and ground.
Step 1: Pole and ground
Draw a tall thin pole on the left, a ball on top, and a ground line from edge to edge.
Step 2: The waving flag
Start on the pole below the ball. Draw a wavy top edge, a straight right side, a wavy bottom edge.
Tip Make the bottom edge copy the wave of the top edge.
Step 3: Two band lines
Draw 2 wavy lines across the flag, from the pole to the right side, splitting it into 3 bands.
Tip Follow the wave of the top edge so the 3 bands stay the same height.
Step 4: The wheel
In the very middle of the middle band draw a small circle. Keep it clear of both band lines.
Step 5: A plus of spokes
Inside the wheel draw a plus: one line from top to bottom and one from side to side.
Step 6: An X of spokes
Draw an X through the middle too, from rim to rim. Now the wheel has 8 spokes.
Tip The real wheel has 24 thin spokes. In a small drawing 8 is plenty.
Step 7: Wind lines
Off the right edge of the flag draw 3 short wind lines.
Step 8: Yellow ball
Colour the ball on top of the pole yellow.
Step 9: Grey pole
Colour the pole grey.
Step 10: Orange top band
Colour the top band orange. Leave the middle band and the wheel white.
Tip This deep orange is called saffron.
Step 11: Green bottom band
Colour the bottom band green. Go over your lines. Your India flag is waving!
Tip On the real flag the wheel is dark blue. Go over it with a blue pencil if you like.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: an india flag, drawn by you.
