How to Draw a Dragon Skull
Draw a dragon skull in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the skull.
Step 1: The skull
In the middle draw a long skull: blunt nose on the left, low snout, tall round back, flat jaw line.
Tip A dragon skull is long and low at the nose and tall at the back.
Step 2: The big horn
From the top of the tall back, draw a long horn sweeping back and up to a sharp point.
Tip Fat where it leaves the skull, thin at the tip.
Step 3: Eye hole and nostril
Below the big horn draw a big egg-shaped eye hole. Near the nose draw a small nostril.
Step 4: Two small horns
Draw a small horn on the back of the skull, and one curving up from the nose.
Step 5: Top teeth
Start on the jaw line under the nose. Zigzag teeth down, a big fang first, stopping below the eye hole.
Step 6: Bottom jaw
From the back corner draw the bottom jaw down to a blunt chin, and back. Add a round hinge knob.
Tip The jaw hangs open from its hinge at the back of the skull.
Step 7: Bottom teeth
Start on the front of the bottom jaw. Zigzag 3 teeth up, stopping on the edge. Leave a gap above.
Tip They must not touch the top teeth.
Step 8: Cracks
Zigzag a small crack down from the top of the snout, and another up from the bottom of the jaw.
Step 9: Ground and pebbles
Draw a ground line under the jaw, stopping short of the edges. Add 3 small pebbles.
Step 10: Sand bone, white teeth
Go over your lines. Colour the skull and the jaw sand, leaving the holes and the teeth white.
Step 11: Brown horns, grey pebbles
Colour the 3 horns light brown and the pebbles light grey.
Step 12: Black holes
Colour the eye hole and the nostril black. Your dragon skull is done!
