How to Draw a Birthday Balloon
Draw a birthday balloon in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the balloon.
Step 1: The balloon
In the upper middle of your paper draw a big balloon, like an upside-down teardrop, as wide as your hand.
Step 2: The knot
Under the bottom of the balloon draw a tiny upside-down triangle for the knot.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Above the middle of the balloon draw 2 big egg eyes. Add big black dots with white shines.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each end.
Step 5: The string
From the bottom of the knot draw a long wiggly string down to the bottom of your paper.
Step 6: A bow
Just under the knot draw a little bow: a fat loop each side and 2 wide tails.
Step 7: Shine
On the upper left of the balloon draw one long curve following the edge, and a tiny one above it.
Step 8: Confetti
Draw 4 little tilted squares of confetti round the balloon, 2 on each side.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 2 sparkle stars: one at the top on the left, and one low on the right.
Step 10: Yellow bow and sparkles
Go over your lines. Colour the bow and the sparkles yellow.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, blue confetti
Colour the cheeks pink and the confetti sky blue.
Step 12: Red balloon
Colour the balloon and knot red, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white. Your balloon is ready for the party!
