How to Draw a Plaza
Draw a plaza in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the ground.
Step 1: The ground
Across the middle of your paper draw a long straight ground line from left to right.
Tip The buildings stand on this line. The fountain goes below it.
Step 2: The clock tower
Start on the middle of the line. Go up tall, across and back down to it. Add a pointy roof.
Step 3: Two blocks
On each side of the tower draw a wide block: up from the line, then across to the tower.
Tip Make the right block a little taller.
Step 4: Two houses
Beside each block, start on the line, go up and across to the block. Add a pointy roof.
Step 5: Clock and door
High on the tower draw a round clock with 2 hands. Add a window below and an arched door.
Step 6: Doors and windows
Give each block 2 windows and a door. Give each house an arched door and 1 window.
Step 7: The fountain basin
Below the tower draw a wide oval. From its ends, curve sides down to a flat bottom.
Tip Make the fountain nearly as wide as the tower and both blocks.
Step 8: The top bowl
From the oval's back edge draw a short stand. On it, draw a small cup up to an oval rim.
Step 9: Splashing water
On the bowl's back edge draw a little ball. Curve a water arc down from it on each side.
Step 10: Sky blue
Colour the windows, the clock and the fountain water sky blue.
Step 11: Cream and yellow
Colour the tower and houses cream and the 2 blocks yellow, going around the windows and the clock.
Step 12: Grey and sand
Colour the fountain grey. Colour the ground sand, out to the edges and the bottom.
Step 13: Red roofs
Colour the 3 pointed roofs red. Go over your lines and your plaza is done!
