How to Draw Cappadocia Balloons
Draw Cappadocia balloons in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: ground and tall rock.
Step 1: Ground and tall rock
From left to right, draw a ground line. On it, draw a tall middle rock with a wide mushroom cap.
Tip In Cappadocia, hot-air balloons float over strange tall rocks called fairy chimneys.
Step 2: Left and right rocks
On each side, draw a shorter rock on the ground, each with its own mushroom cap.
Step 3: Doorways
At the bottom of each rock, draw a small doorway: an upside-down U standing on the ground.
Step 4: Big balloon
At the top left, draw a big hot-air balloon: a round top narrowing to a small neck at the bottom.
Step 5: Its basket
Under the neck, draw 2 short rope lines down to a small square basket.
Step 6: Second balloon
At the top right, draw a smaller balloon the same way, with ropes and a basket.
Step 7: Third balloon
In the middle of the sky, well above the tall rock, draw a tiny balloon with ropes and a basket.
Step 8: Stripes
Draw a curved stripe line across each balloon.
Step 9: Little clouds
In the sky, draw 2 little bumpy clouds, one at the top left and one on the right.
Step 10: Sand rocks, yellow balloon
Colour the rocks sand, but not the doorways or caps. Colour the right balloon yellow.
Step 11: Red balloons
Colour the big balloon and the tiny balloon red.
Step 12: Brown caps and baskets
Colour the cap stones, doorways and baskets brown. Up, up and away!
