How to Draw a Platypus Face
Draw a platypus face in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wide head.
Step 1: Wide head
In the middle of your paper, draw a big wide head with fat cheeks. Leave room below for the bill.
Step 2: Huge duck bill
Low on the face, draw a big spoon-shaped bill, narrow at the top and wide and round below.
Tip Let the round front poke out past the cheeks. Rub out the head line inside the bill.
Step 3: Two nostrils
Near the top of the bill, draw 2 little nostril ovals a finger apart. Colour them black.
Step 4: Two big eyes
Just above the bill, well apart, draw 2 big round eyes.
Step 5: Dots and shines
In each eye, colour a big black dot. Leave a little white shine at its top.
Step 6: Happy smile
Low on the bill, draw a wide smile. Start and stop well inside the bill's edges.
Step 7: Rosy cheeks
Draw a little oval on each fat cheek, beside the eye and above the bill. Colour it pink.
Step 8: The water
From the left edge of the page, draw a wavy water line across to the right edge, skipping the bill.
Step 9: Tan bill
Colour the bill tan, around the black nostrils.
Step 10: Blue water
Colour the water blue around the bill, right down to the bottom of the page.
Step 11: Brown fur
Colour the head brown around the eyes, cheeks and bill. Leave the eyes white. Your platypus is done!
