How to Draw a Chick
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big egg head.
Step 1: Big egg head
Near the top of your paper draw a big egg, fat side down. It is most of the chick.
Tip Not a perfect circle. A little wobble is good.
Step 2: Three fluffy tufts
Start on top of the head. Draw 3 soft round tufts up and over, back down to the head.
Tip Tallest in the middle. Round tops, not points. The side ones lean out.
Step 3: Two big eyes
Halfway down the head draw 2 big eggy eyes, one eye apart. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Open beak and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a fat triangle beak. Hang a U lower beak from its sides. Add 2 oval cheeks.
Step 5: Round fluffy tummy
Start under the left cheek. Draw a round tummy with 4 fluff bumps underneath, and stop under the right cheek.
Tip Narrower than the head, so the head stays biggest.
Step 6: Two plump wings
Under the head draw 2 plump wings on the tummy, each ending halfway down in 3 bumps.
Step 7: Little fan tail
On the right of the tummy, draw a fan tail with 3 round bumps. Start and stop on the tummy.
Step 8: Two legs and toes
Under the tummy draw 2 short fat legs, wide at the top. Add 3 round toes to each.
Step 9: The ground
Draw a straight ground line under the toes. Start past the left foot and stop past the right foot.
Step 10: Yellow chick
Colour the wings pale yellow, then the chick yellow around them. Leave the beak, cheeks, legs, toes and eyes white.
Step 11: Orange beak and feet
Colour the beak, legs and toes orange, and the cheeks pink.

Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a chick, drawn by you.
