How to Draw a Plant Monster
Draw a plant monster in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pod head.
Step 1: Pod head
Near the top, draw a big egg-shaped pod for the head. Give it a gently curved bottom, like a smile.
Step 2: Open jaw
Under the head, draw a bowl jaw from one bottom corner to the other. Join them with a smile curve.
Step 3: Two eyes on top
In the top half of the pod, draw 2 big round eyes with black dots and white shines.
Step 4: Eyebrows
Above each eye, draw a short curved eyebrow, like a little rainbow.
Step 5: Pointy teeth
Hang 4 pointy triangle teeth from the top of the mouth. Stand 3 more up from the bottom.
Step 6: Thick stem
Start under the middle of the jaw. Draw 2 curving stem lines down to where the pot will go.
Step 7: Leaf arms
From each side of the stem, draw a long pointy leaf reaching out like an arm. Add a vein line.
Step 8: Pot and ground
Draw a rim under the stem. Draw a pot from under it, back to the rim. Add a ground line.
Step 9: Pod spots
Draw 3 round spots on the sides of the pod, away from the eyes.
Step 10: Purple spots
Colour the 3 spots purple first.
Step 11: Green plant
Colour the pod, jaw, stem and leaves green, around the spots. Leave the eyes and teeth white.
Step 12: Dark mouth, ginger pot
Colour the mouth dark around the teeth, and the pot and its rim ginger brown. Your plant monster is ready!
