How to Draw a Planetarium
Draw a planetarium in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the dome.
Step 1: The dome
Above the middle, start on the left. Draw a big upside-down bowl, over half the page wide, stop level.
Step 2: The tower
From each end of the dome draw a long line straight down. Join the bottoms with a flat line.
Step 3: The band
Start on the dome's left end. Draw a shallow smile across, stop at the right end. Add another below.
Step 4: A planet
In the middle of the dome draw a plum-sized round planet with a tilted ring round it.
Step 5: Stars on the dome
On each side of the planet, a little lower, draw a small 5-point star.
Step 6: Door and windows
Just above the bottom draw a rainbow-top door and knob. Add a square window with a cross each side.
Step 7: 2 steps
Draw a flat box step under the door. Start on the base, draw a wider step, stop on the base.
Tip The second step is wider than the first.
Step 8: The moon
In the top left draw a crescent moon: a C with a thinner C inside.
Step 9: Stars in the sky
In the sky draw 3 little 5-point stars: 2 on the right and 1 on the left.
Step 10: The ground
Draw the ground line from each tower corner out to the paper's edge. Add a little grass tuft each side.
Step 11: Cream tower, yellow stars
Colour the tower and steps cream, and the ring, the moon and all the stars yellow.
Step 12: Orange planet, navy dome
Colour the planet orange, and the dome navy blue around the planet and stars. Go over your lines. Done!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a planetarium, drawn by you.
