How to Draw a Pixel Cat
Draw a pixel cat in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: ears and top.
Step 1: Ears and top
Start low on the left. Draw 2 pointy stepped ears joined by a flat top. Stop low on the right.
Tip Blocky drawings have no curves: only up, down and across.
Step 2: The chin
Start at the right end. Step in and down to a flat chin, step up, stop at the left end.
Step 3: Two square eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 big square eyes. Colour a black square in each, leaving a corner.
Step 4: Square nose
Under the eyes, in the middle, draw 1 small square for the nose.
Step 5: Blocky smile
Under the nose, start a little left. Go down one step, across, and up one step on the right.
Step 6: Whiskers
On each side of the face, level with the nose, draw 2 short straight whisker lines going across.
Step 7: Forehead stripes
On the forehead, a little under the top line, draw 3 little squares in a row.
Step 8: Floating squares
Up and out from each ear tip, draw 1 little square floating in the air.
Step 9: Floor line
Under the chin, draw a straight floor line, starting left of the head and stopping right of it.
Step 10: Yellow and pink
Go over your lines. Colour the 2 floating squares yellow and the nose pink.
Step 11: Grey cat
Colour the head grey around the pink nose and the 3 stripes. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Dark grey stripes
Colour the 3 forehead stripes dark grey. Your blocky cat is done!
