How to Draw a Pineapple
Draw a pineapple in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tall egg.
Step 1: The tall egg
Draw a tall egg bigger than your fist, fattest below the middle. Leave lots of room above for the leaves.
Tip Tall like a barrel, not round like a ball.
Step 2: Tall middle leaf
Start on the egg top, left of the middle. Draw a tall pointy leaf up and back down to it.
Tip Wide at the bottom with a soft point, never a sharp spike.
Step 3: Two side leaves
On each side, start on the egg beside the tall leaf. Draw a pointy leaf out and back to it.
Step 4: Two outer leaves
Start on the egg beside each side leaf. Sweep out to a soft point, then back to the leaf.
Step 5: Slanting lines
Start on the left edge under the leaves. Draw a slanting line down to the right edge. Add 4 more.
Tip All the lines lean the same way, like rain, a finger apart.
Step 6: Criss-cross diamonds
Start on the right edge and draw 5 lines slanting the other way, down to the left edge, making diamonds.
Step 7: Leaf veins
Start where each of the 3 front leaves meets the egg. Draw a short vein up the middle, stopping halfway.
Step 8: The ground
Start a little left of the pineapple and draw a straight ground line touching its bottom, stopping a little right.
Step 9: Yellow pineapple
Colour the whole egg yellow, lines and all, leaving a little curved shine white at the top left.
Step 10: Green leaves
Colour the 3 front leaves light green and the 2 outer leaves dark green, then go over all your lines.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a pineapple, drawn by you.
