How to Draw Pho
Draw pho in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.
Step 1: The rim
A little above the middle, draw a wide flat oval as wide as your hand: the top of the bowl.
Tip Look down into the bowl a little: the top is a flat oval.
Step 2: The bowl
Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a big deep U down and up to the right end.
Step 3: Foot and table
From the bowl, draw a short stand down, across and up to the bowl. Rest it on a table line.
Step 4: The stripe
Start on the left side under the rim, draw a smile line round the bowl, stop on the right side.
Step 5: The broth
Inside the rim, draw a second flat oval a finger inside it for the soup.
Step 6: Beef slices
On the left of the soup, draw 2 flat beef ovals, one tucked a little behind the other.
Tip Keep every topping inside the soup line.
Step 7: Lime wheel
On the right of the soup, draw a flat lime oval with 3 lines crossing in the middle.
Step 8: Chopsticks
Left of the lime, draw 2 long thin chopsticks side by side, leaning up over the rim to the right.
Step 9: Noodles
Between the beef and the chopsticks, draw 3 fat wavy noodles, one under the other.
Step 10: Basil and chili
Below the chopstick ends, draw a pointy basil leaf. Dot 2 little chili rings far apart on the soup.
Step 11: Steam
Start just above the rim and draw 3 wiggly steam lines going up, the middle one tallest.
Step 12: Tan soup, green lime
Colour the soup tan around the toppings, leaving the noodles white. Colour the lime and basil green.
Step 13: Red chili, blue band
Colour the chili rings red and the band under the rim blue. Leave the bowl white.
Step 14: Brown beef, wood chopsticks
Colour the beef brown and the chopsticks wood brown. Your pho is ready!
