How to Draw a Tart
Draw a tart in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the crimped top.
Step 1: The crimped top
In the middle of your paper draw a big flat oval. Make the front half a row of little bumps.
Tip The bumps are the pinched crust edge.
Step 2: The crust ring
Inside the oval draw a second flat oval, a finger inside it all the way round.
Step 3: The tin
Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a shallow U under the tart to the right end.
Step 4: Strawberries
On the filling draw 3 strawberry halves, like fat teardrops, point down: one left, one middle, one right.
Step 5: Leafy caps
On top of each strawberry draw a little zigzag cap with 3 points.
Step 6: Kiwi slices
Draw 2 kiwi slices between the strawberries, one low, one high. Give each a ring of tiny seeds.
Step 7: Blueberries
Dot 5 small round blueberries in the gaps, none touching.
Step 8: The table
Draw a line under the tin from far left to far right, just touching its bottom.
Step 9: A shadow
From the table line at the left, draw a low rainbow behind the tin to the right, for its shadow.
Step 10: Cream filling, tan crust
Colour the filling cream around the fruit, and the kiwi middles too. Colour the crust ring and tin tan.
Step 11: Red strawberries, green kiwi
Colour the strawberries red and the kiwi slices green, around their pale middles and seeds.
Step 12: Green caps, blue berries
Colour the strawberry caps green and the blueberries blue.
Step 13: Grey shadow
Colour the shadow grey. Your tart is done!
