How to Draw a Person Thinking
Draw a person thinking in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room above on the right for a thought bubble.
Step 2: A thinking face
Draw 2 oval eyes with the dots high up, looking right. Add a tiny nose, a small mouth and eyebrows.
Step 3: Soft hair cap
Start on the left of the head by the eyebrows. Draw hair tufts over the top, down to the right.
Step 4: Neck and T-shirt
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw the T-shirt down, across, and back up to the right one.
Step 5: Arms
From each sleeve draw an arm, one down to the hip and one bent up to the chin.
Tip Bend the right arm like a V, down to a round elbow, then up across the chest.
Step 6: Fist under the chin
Draw a mitten on the left arm. On the bent arm draw a fist under the chin, with a thumb.
Step 7: Thought bubble
Above the head on the right draw a tiny circle, a bigger one, then a cloud with a question mark.
Step 8: Trousers
Start at the left corner of the shirt. Draw long trousers down, up between the legs, back to the right.
Step 9: Shoes and ground
Under each leg draw a shoe with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the shoes.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour 2 pink cheeks, then the face, neck, arms and hands peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Purple T-shirt, grey trousers
Colour the T-shirt and sleeves purple around the arm, and the trousers grey.
Step 12: Brown hair and shoes
Colour the hair and the shoes brown. Leave the thought bubble white. Your thinker is done!
