How to Draw an Egg and Spoon Race
Draw an egg and spoon race in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.
Step 1: Egg head
Near the top left of your paper draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave lots of room on the right for the spoon and the egg.
Step 2: The face
On the right half of the head draw 2 oval eyes with black dots, a tiny nose and a smile.
Tip Put the dots low on the right of each eye: the child is watching the egg.
Step 3: Short hair
Start above the right eye. Draw hair over the top and down the back, then a fringe line back.
Tip Rub out the head line inside the hair.
Step 4: Neck and body
Draw a short neck. Under it draw a narrow bean body, rounder at the front, with a flat bottom.
Step 5: Shorts
Under the body draw shorts that spread out wide, with an upside-down V between the legs.
Step 6: Running legs
Draw the front leg stepping forward with a bent knee. Draw the back leg kicking up behind.
Tip Legs are wide at the top and thin at the ankle.
Step 7: Two shoes
Draw a shoe flat under the front leg. Draw the back shoe pointing down, its toe near the ground.
Step 8: Reaching arm
From the shoulder draw a long arm reaching forward to a mitten hand. Add a sleeve line.
Tip Rub out the body line inside the arm. Bend the arm a little at the elbow.
Step 9: Spoon and egg
From the hand draw a thin handle to a shallow bowl. Sit an egg in the bowl.
Tip The bottom of the egg hides inside the spoon.
Step 10: Back-swing arm
Draw the other arm swinging back from behind the body to a mitten hand. Add a sleeve line.
Step 11: Ground and flag
Draw a long ground line under the front shoe. On the right stand a pole with a small flag.
Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheek
Colour a pink cheek. Colour the face, neck, arms, hands and legs peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Yellow top, red shoes
Colour the top and both sleeves yellow. Colour the 2 shoes and the flag red.
Step 14: Blue shorts, brown hair
Go over your lines. Colour the shorts blue. Colour the hair and the spoon brown. Leave the egg white.
