How to Draw a Person Eating

Step 1: The head

Near the top, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave the middle of the page for the table and the arms.

Step 2: The face

Draw 2 big round eyes with black dots and shines. Add a tiny nose, eyebrows and an open smile.

Tip Colour the inside of the mouth black.

Step 3: Soft hair cap

Start on the left of the head, by the eyebrows. Draw soft tufts over the head, down to the right.

Step 4: Neck and T-shirt

Draw 2 short neck lines. From the left one, draw a T-shirt with short sleeves, stopping at the right one.

Step 5: The table

Across the shirt draw a long table top, a thin box under it, 2 legs and a ground line.

Tip The table hides the bottom of the shirt. Rub out the shirt behind it.

Step 6: Bowl of soup

On the table draw a flat oval. Start at its left end, draw a deep U, stop at its right.

Step 7: Resting arm

From the left sleeve draw an arm down to the table, then across to a mitten by the bowl.

Tip Arms get thinner toward the wrist.

Step 8: Spoon arm

From the right sleeve draw an arm down to the table, then up to a mitten under the chin.

Step 9: Spoon

Through the raised hand draw a spoon: a thin handle and an oval scoop tipped up to the mouth.

Step 10: Chair and legs

Under the table draw a chair seat with 2 legs. Add the person's legs, thin at the ankles, and shoes.

Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour the face, neck, arms and hands peach, with pink cheeks. Keep the eyes white.

Step 12: Orange soup, grey spoon

Colour the soup in the bowl orange. Colour the spoon and the trousers grey.

Step 13: Blue shirt and bowl

Colour the T-shirt blue, around the arms and the spoon. Colour the bowl blue too.

Step 14: Brown hair and wood

Colour the hair, the table, the chair and the shoes brown. Go over your lines!
