How to Draw an Artist
Draw an artist in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, draw an egg for the head. Leave room below for the body.
Step 2: The face
Add 2 oval eyes, a U nose and a smile. Each C ear starts and stops on the head.
Step 3: Beret
On the head, draw a floppy beret drooping over one side, with a tiny stalk on top.
Step 4: Neck, smock, scarf
Draw 2 neck lines. From them, draw a long smock with round shoulders, back to the neck. Add a scarf.
Step 5: Long sleeves
From each shoulder, draw a long sleeve down to the wrist. The left hangs straight, the right bends in.
Tip Rub out the smock lines inside the sleeves. Add a cuff line near the left wrist.
Step 6: Mitten hands
Draw a mitten hanging from the left sleeve and one pointing in from the right, each with a thumb.
Step 7: Palette and brush
Behind one hand, draw a palette with 3 blobs. From the other hand, draw a brush up to a tip.
Step 8: Trousers, shoes, ground
Start at the left of the hem. Draw 2 trouser legs, back to the right. Add shoes and the ground.
Step 9: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, ears, neck and hands peach, with pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Yellow and blue paint
Colour 2 paint blobs yellow and the middle one blue, and the brush bristles blue too.
Step 11: Tan palette, sky smock
Colour the palette tan around the paint blobs, and the smock and sleeves sky blue.
Step 12: Red beret, brown trousers
Colour the beret and scarf red, and the brush handle, trousers and shoes brown. Your artist is done!
