How to Draw a Persephone
Draw a persephone in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg head. Make the chin end narrower.
Tip Leave a little room above for the flowers.
Step 2: The face
Halfway down the head draw 2 round eyes with black dots, a tiny U nose and a smile.
Step 3: Hair with a parting
Start on the left of the head. Draw hair over the top, then 2 curves back to a middle parting.
Step 4: Flower crown
On top of the hair draw 3 flowers, each with 5 round petals and a circle in the middle.
Tip The middle flower is the biggest.
Step 5: Neck and gown
Draw 2 neck lines and 2 shoulders from the chin. Hang a long gown down to a wavy hem.
Step 6: Arms
From each shoulder draw an arm: the left bent across the tummy, the right hanging down to a mitten.
Tip Each arm gets thinner toward the wrist. Rub out the gown line inside the bent arm.
Step 7: Fist and pomegranate
On the left wrist draw a round fist. Sit a round pomegranate on it, with a tiny crown on top.
Tip The little crown is what makes it a pomegranate, not an apple.
Step 8: Belt and folds
Draw a belt band across the gown, stopping behind the pomegranate. Add 2 short fold lines above the hem.
Step 9: Long hair
From each side of the hair draw long hair down past the shoulders, to a round curl by each arm.
Step 10: Sandals and ground
Under the hem draw 2 round sandals, toes pointing out. Draw a long ground line under them.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face, neck, shoulders, arms and hands peach around them. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Pink flowers, golden belt
Colour the petals pink. Colour the flower middles, the belt and the sandals yellow. Leave the gown and fruit white.
Step 13: Red fruit, brown hair
Colour the pomegranate red and all the hair brown. Your Persephone is done!
