How to Draw a Pirate Captain
Draw a pirate captain in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: egg head.
Step 1: Egg head
Near the top, in the middle, draw an egg for the head, narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room on both sides of the head for the hat points.
Step 2: Face and moustache
Draw 2 big round eyes, a tiny U nose and a smile. Add a bow moustache and colour it black.
Step 3: Captain's hat
Above the eyes draw a wide hat, pointy each side. Add a skull with 2 eye holes in the middle.
Step 4: Neck and long coat
Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one, draw a long coat with split tails, ending at the right one.
Step 5: Lapels and sash
From each neck line, draw a lapel slanting down to a V on the chest. Add a waist sash.
Step 6: Sleeves with cuffs
From each shoulder draw a soft bent sleeve. Bring the left across the chest, the right down to the hip.
Step 7: Fists
On the left wrist, draw a fist pointing in. On the right, draw a fist resting on the hip.
Step 8: Spyglass
In the left fist draw a spyglass standing up, 3 tubes stacked, each thinner than the last.
Step 9: Trousers, boots, ground
From the coat's split, draw 2 trouser legs down to tall boots, toes out. Draw the ground under them.
Step 10: Peach skin
Colour the face around the moustache, the neck and fists peach. Add pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Yellow sash, red coat
Colour the sash and spyglass middle yellow, then the coat and sleeves red. Leave the trousers white.
Step 12: Black hat and boots
Colour the spyglass ends brown, the hat and boots black, leaving the skull white. Your pirate captain is done!
