How to Draw a Pennsylvania Map
Draw a pennsylvania map in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top left.
Step 1: The top left
Start near the top left. Draw a short line slanting up to the right, then a short drop straight down.
Tip The slanting bit is the shore of a huge lake, Lake Erie.
Step 2: The long top
Carry on from the drop. Draw a long straight line to the right. Stop near the right side.
Step 3: The river starts
Carry on from there. Wiggle a line down, leaning right. Stop at a point that sticks out.
Tip This wiggly right side is the Delaware River.
Step 4: Down the river
From that point, wiggle a line down. Lean left a little, then right. Stop at a sharp corner.
Step 5: The bottom corner
From the corner, slant down to the left, then curve over a small hump. Stop at the bottom.
Step 6: The long bottom
Carry on from there. Draw a long straight line to the left. Stop under your very first point.
Step 7: Close the map
Carry on from there. Draw a straight line up. Join the start of your first line.
Tip Pennsylvania is nearly a rectangle. Only the right side wiggles.
Step 8: The capital star
Right of the middle, nearer the bottom edge, draw a star for the capital city, Harrisburg.
Step 9: Two mountains
In the middle of the map, draw 2 little triangle mountains, the right one a bit higher.
Tip On a map, little triangles show where the mountains are.
Step 10: Green land
Go over your lines. Colour all the land green, around the star and the 2 mountains.
Step 11: Brown and red
Colour the 2 mountains brown and the star red. Your map of Pennsylvania is done!

Your finished drawing
