How to Draw a Pencil Case
Draw a pencil case in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the case.
Step 1: The case
Low on your paper draw a wide, soft pouch. Let its top edge dip down a little in the middle.
Tip Make it wide: the pencils need room to poke out of the top.
Step 2: Open top
Start at the top left corner. Draw a curve up and over to the top right corner.
Tip Now the case looks open, like a mouth.
Step 3: The zip
Under the top edge draw a second curve from side to side. Hang a zip pull near the right end.
Step 4: A ruler
Draw a tall ruler leaning out of the left side, with a flat top. Add 5 marks along one edge.
Tip Let the ruler lean a little to the left.
Step 5: First pencil
Next to the ruler draw a tall pencil with a pointed top. Add 2 lines across the point.
Tip The big line is where the wood starts. The small one is the tip.
Step 6: Second pencil
Draw a shorter pencil leaning the other way. Give it the same pointed top and 2 lines.
Step 7: A rubber
On the right draw a short, fat block with round corners peeking out. That is the rubber.
Tip Keep it shorter than both pencils.
Step 8: Ground line
Draw a long straight line under the case so it sits on the table.
Step 9: Yellow ruler
Colour the ruler yellow. Colour the wood on each pencil point light brown.
Step 10: Bright pencils
Colour one pencil red and the other green. Colour each little tip to match its pencil.
Step 11: Pink and grey
Colour the rubber pink. Colour the zip band and the zip pull grey.
Step 12: Blue case
Colour the case blue and the inside dark blue. Go over your lines and your pencil case is done!
Tip The inside is the strip you can see behind the pencils.
